In the English program, main focuses are on big reading assignments and essay build-up. This is to help prepare us for big standardized tests and essays and being as prepared as possible for them. Over the course of the 2014-2015 school year though, we have done many other things in and out of the classroom, such as debates, video projects involving a book of my choice and poetry piece of my choice, and various other things. These assignments broaden our horizons of the world and what we might face.

 

Video Projects

In the English class, we embrace technology and use it to our benefit. The video projects were about a choice book and choice poetry piece that we read and analyzed. We were told to make trailers or mini movies using programs such as iMovie. We had to make it so that anyone watching could get a general idea of the piece in just a few minutes.
